TEACHING

Ted is currently the Instructor of Applied Trumpet at Malone University in Canton, Ohio. During his doctoral studies he also taught at The Ohio State University as the Graduate Associate for the trumpet studio. He has given masterclasses and guest lectures at Illinois State University, The Crane School of Music (SUNY Potsdam), The College of Wooster, Queen’s University, The University of Prince Edward Island, Lakehead University, and Mount Allison University. 


A patient and passionate educator, Ted also has over fifteen years of experience teaching beginner and intermediate trumpet players. For ten years he was the trumpet instructor for Toronto’s Royal St. George’s College, held the same position at Bayview Glen School, has taught at the Inter-provincial Music Camp, Kincardine Summer Music Festival, The Ohio State High School Honor Band, and leads trumpet sectionals and clinics at schools across Ontario and Ohio. His wide experience with this age group led to the writing and publishing of 20 Interesting Etudes for the Developing Trumpet Player in 2018.
